Sightings Around Monteiro Lobato: On the Road to Pedro do Om
A day in the mountains can feel like stepping outside of time. We traveled from the valleys of São Paulo state into the green folds around Monteiro Lobato, where the air holds both silence and song.
Our path led us upward to the summit of Pedra do Om, at Campo Escola Montanhismo—a place where sky and stone meet in quiet recognition. Later, we found ourselves restored at Beira do Riacho Restaurante, where the meal was as organic and alive as the land around it.
This story gathers glimpses from that journey. Not just what the eyes recorded, but what the heart knew: that beauty, when received with stillness, points us back to the Source.
The Signpost
A simple board, weathered by sun and rain. It does not hurry, it only points the way.

The Guardian Tree
Rooted in silence, rising without effort. Its strength is not in striving, but in simply being.

The Fruit
Quietly, the branch offers its gift. No striving, only ripening in the light.

The Way
One arrow to stone, another to forest. Both directions lead inward.

The Shelter
Walls of earth, roof of tin. Even the simplest home carries the dignity of belonging.

The Emblem
A hiker, a yogi, a sun rising. All paths return to the same center.

The Valley I
Hills folding into one another, shadows drifting like breath. A village rests quietly below.

The Meadow Overlook
The grass ends, the sky begins. Between them, the mountains stretch without end.

Clay and Tile Homes
Walls of earth, roofs of red. A harmony of shelter and sky.

The Bicycle
Rust gathers on the frame, flowers ride where the wheels once turned. Even rest becomes a kind of motion.

The Gathering Hall
Wood, clay, and green ferns. A place to eat, but also a place to breathe.

The Garden Cafe
Painted boards, dried herbs, jars, and taps. Hospitality in its simplest form.

Closing Reflection
The day gave more than views: it gave reminders of simplicity, patience, and the quiet strength of the land. To walk here is to remember that beauty is always near, waiting for us to notice.
